It is officially that time of the year. The air is fresh, the flowers are popping up, and the time to make updates to your kitchen has arrived. You may have the itch to change some things, but you don’t know where to start. Thankfully, you stumbled across this blog post! We will discuss small updates if you are not quite ready to do a full re-design, as well as larger scale projects. Read through to get some tips to revitalize your kitchen this spring!

Do you walk through your kitchen, look around, and want to change the space but feel too overwhelmed for a full remodel? Luckily for you, there are a few easy ways to spruce it up. If your cabinets are in good shape, paint them! An ever popular trend we are seeing in the kitchen design world are dual toned cabinets.

Not only does it create an eye catching design, it can also enhance the perceived size of your kitchen. Who doesn’t like having a kitchen that feels massive without having to knock down a wall or two? Plus, changing the color of your space can make it feel brand new. Another fun little change you can make is updating your hardware. At our showroom in Johnston, we have quite a few options available for all of your cabinet needs!

We recently had a customer come visit because she loved the color of her cabinets, but when she installed them she had purchased hardware from a big box store. The handles were not the exact finish that she had envisioned but she had kept them because she - obviously - needed to be able to open her cabinets. Sometimes all you really need is the perfect black matte cabinet handle. Painting and updating the hardware for your cabinetry is a cost efficient and fun way to dabble in a kitchen re-design without committing to a full remodel.

If you like to cook, you know you can never have too much storage. There is nothing like having to shove all of your pots into a corner of a cabinet that is either too low or too high to reach, or not knowing where to put your newest jar of artisanal pasta because the other jar of artisanal pasta is taking up too much space (I see you, I validate you). When you do not have enough storage space, eventually things make their way onto the counter which eats up prep/cooking

space. It feels like we talk about this often, but roll out cabinets are an excellent way to enhance your kitchen without anyone else even realizing. Not only will it clear up your counter space, but it makes digging around for that one specific spice you need every once in a while much easier.

As we discussed in our accessible kitchen blog, there may be members of a household who need easier ways to get to heavy pots and pans. The roll out trays make bending down or reaching up less strenuous while also updating the efficiency of your organization system in your kitchen. Additionally, pantries create an abundance of space. Walk-in pantries are a true luxury item, but if you are someone who has a proclivity towards large cooking projects, it is definitely worth the investment. Keep your counters clear and buy as many artisanal pastas as your heart desires.
