Join us as we discuss how we are looking forward to taking inspiration from these trends for our 2025 clients!
In the long history of bath design, colorful tilework has always had a large presence. In recent years, however, they gave way to large slabs of stone and clean lines. While reading through articles about the trends for 2025, every single one mentioned a resurgence of tile across the board. Color drenching is a trend we discussed in our last blog post about kitchen design for 2025, and dynamic tilework is the bath design world’s take on that trend.
According to Homes and Gardens, this is called tile drenching. Tile is an excellent option to install a lot of color into your space while also adding a complimentary, visual texture component. While speaking to Homes and Gardens, designer Kailee Blalock praises this technique. “[Tile drenching is] striking and makes the room feel more polished and intentional. While we call it a trend, it’s something we believe will stand the test of time due to its ability to create such a timeless and impactful design.” Creating colorful patterns and mosaics is also easy with tile. According to designer Jean-Jacques L’Henaff’s interview with Elle Decor, “...new gorgeous, vintage-inspired patterns with deep glazes and intricate shapes bring a classic charm and timelessness.” This new collection from Marazzi Tile is the perfect example of patterned tile that can be paired with complementary, colorful accents. Here at Kitchens By Design, we love to see the colorful tile technique making waves in the industry. This mood board inspired by Glinda from the musical “Wicked” uses tile from the Crossville Tile collection Cursive to embody this trend. This collection includes unique shapes that can be combined with multiple colors to create not just a colorful space, but also picks up on the patterns that can easily be achieved by using a plethora of tiles. Just because you want to use tile doesn't mean you have to be a square!

This specific mood board and combination of colors such as Lilac and Rose Gold also ties into another trend that Homes and Gardens took note of. Using contrasting yet complementary colors in intentional ways instead of one solid, basic color with mild pops through hardware or accessories is becoming a primary design style. People are becoming more bold with their self expression, and fun tilework in your updated bath design is one way to accomplish this!
Bath design trends are utilizing multiple different techniques to achieve a sense of leisure. One of the primary methods is by incorporating plenty of natural colors, textures, and shapes into your design.
Natural stone tiles and accessories such as wooden framed mirrors add organic elements that help promote relaxation. Since the early days of the pandemic, homeowners have developed a new focus on wellness and self-care. As a result, spa-like wet rooms have become a staple for bath design. As Elle Decor mentions, people’s love for deep bathtubs will always have a place in bath upgrades. However, luxurious spa-esque wet rooms are becoming more popular. A wet room is a combination shower and bath space that is fully enclosed in one section of the room. Using hardware such as a waterfall shower head is one of the ways to accomplish this lavish design trend in your own home.
A focus on wellness, self-care and self expression is taking over the bath design world. From brightly colored tile to organic design elements, making your bath a space where you can go for sanctuary is key. Do you want that spa-like experience with a stunning wet-room covered in tile or the calming warmth of organic tones? Come in to our showroom to find inspiration for your update!
